Robin Stewart was first discovered at the tender age of eleven, by a Disney scout in London. As a child star, he appeared with many of the world’s great actors, including Richard Burton, Julie Andrews, Sir Alec Guinness and Ingrid Bergman. He later became a household name in Britain and Australia when he co-starred as Sid James’ attractive and wayward son, Mike Abbott, in the 1970’s British series Bless This House. The series ran from 1971-1976, and allowed Stewart to make the transition from a child-star to a TV heartthrob.
Moves to New Zealand and Australia saw Stewart’s career take off in many directions – including appearances in the 1980s soap Sons and Daughters and the ABC TV series, Macarthur, in which he played the title role.
Throughout his life Stewart has had an enduring affinity with horses; working with them, breeding them and competing in both show jumping and endurance, and has tried his hand at team-penning.
Stewart recently married Bertie Daler, and they currently divide their time between Kyogle in North East New South Wales, and Dorset in the United Kingdom.
